Without Phillip Rosedale’s vision and dedication, the future of SL could go either way. All we can do is wait and see what happens down the road.

Far too early to tell – has it even been approved yet? But put it this way – we have 2 premiums due beginning of August and not planning on cancelling unless a major disruption happens. Take that as you will

Best thing ever happened he got out of the way! he was not the sole creator of SL.. Matter of fact you can search this blog back decades and see where Phillip! really should not be on such a high pedestal…the list of people screwed over are endless.
On to the topic! We all seen this coming! the new investors can really help inject new life AND Resources into Linden Lab
1. Things will not change until after the new year.
2. New land options in Feb.2×2 3×3 4×4 8×8 grouped region packs will be between $199 & $599 with a sliding scale based access,rental,rating, land impact & online availability to fit more needs..older single regions can be traded in as credit towards an upgrade..one region for every two in a pack..trade in 4 regions for 8 regions grouped together..unlike older regions the new grouped regions have resources split between them so 8 regions would be able to have 50k land impact between them so that would be around 6250 FIXED to each region evenly.
2.2 Super Regions Moniker will return! if anyone remembers the very rare 20k Super Regions from a decade back? you will be able to pay to boost a single GF Region up to 60k impact and 175 avatars
3. Tilia development will expand and that’s a good thing.
4. Second Life will get major updates in the next 3 years including the rendering engine & physics enhanced, updates to scripting and the prim system retired(possibly replaced with premade shapes with AO Maps)
5. Changes to Upper Management Structuring(Ebbe will not be leaving)
6. Linden Research Inc. being changed into Linden Research Services(LRS).
I do not see any bad changes happening unless Ebbe decides to try a Plan C. by following DeviantArts Disastrous platform change in both software and community development that soon will destroy it like Yahoo/AOL did to Flicker.. it is a tale of caution considering how they have paralleled each other over the years and both have new owners.
I believe the Met the Lindens(damage control) Videos put up on YouTube before the announcement is really the reality unless proven in time otherwise.
As for the comments about P*rn well it’s very much mainstream now and not so taboo…who cares about what people do to there own avatars on land they pay for in regions designated for it? so many hypocrites in the world today. it’s almost a trillion dollar industry the lab would be complete fools just dropping that craved notch so another business could run with it. real life or second life they both have things people will never agree on ever! get over it!
I see this whole thing as second life getting a new lease on life.LikeLike
