Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting

I recently discovered Nick Rhodes’ photostream. It’s relatively new, started in 2018 by an avatar that has been around a long time. In fact, he is the first Frenchman in Second Life and was first featured in New World Notes in 2004. [A tale of broken romance! – ed.] This picture appealed to me because it is so atmospheric. Does he not look filled with terror? What does he see out of the corner of his eye? What is outside that window?

After the cut, he shows you what they do in France.

What We Do in France” (click through to play the video) is a wonderful tribute to the healthcare workers helping combat COVID-19. Nick has done several photos imagining Patient Zero in a futuristic world, a bit of story-telling that seems inspired by the present. I always find it fascinating to see the first life impinging on Second Life.

Sometimes I am just so curious and fascinated by the stories that are told only in pictures. What is going on in “3e type.” The combination of avatars is surreal and I want to know what they are talking about.

If you want to see Second Life as it is with a wild imagination and a coterie of friends who seem to be as creative and imaginative as he is, then Nick Rhode’s photostream is for you. There are beautiful landscapes mixed with on-the-fly snapshots from parties and stories that seem to be full of secrets.

Nick has always been awesome. He was one of the first folks I met back in 2003, and one of the reasons I stuck around for a few years!
