SL shadow mesh subcontractor earnings

New for Patreon subscribers

I hesitated before using the word "shocking" in this post title, but I'm genuinely surprised that a strong majority of respondents earn $15/hour or less from their SL mesh work. Also, that the highest end was $25-49/hour, reached by 17%.

In this survey, mesh riggers report making more on average, but surprisingly not much more.

With pay rates so tight, also worth reading advice from shadow meshers, such as:

"Get 1/2 the money up front. Don’t allow add-ons and major changes to the original request. Do not send the files until you are paid in full. If they require changes that weren’t in the original request, those happen after you’re finished for another negotiated price."

Subscribe to the read the rest here — and a very interesting guest post by a top mesh artist I'll be running later this week.
