Blockchain web3 virtual worldsCheck out our latest wing of the Virtual Worlds Museum ™, this one devoted to Blockchain Worlds, i.e. virtual worlds integrated on some significant level with crypto/blockchain, or what's often called web3. This is very much a work in progress, and we're looking to add other web3 virtual worlds beyond the twenty or so we're tracking, and as we work with marketing partners to expand the exhibit. Here's just some of the worlds I've covered on New World Notes:

Decentraland: Browser‑based, Ethereum‑powered 3D virtual realm where users truly own their creations—from parcels of digital land to wearable NFTs—and shape the world through community governance.  (Read some NWN coverage here)

Sandbox: Decentralized virtual world built on the Ethereum blockchain that allows users to create, own, and monetize interactive experiences using NFTs and the native SAND token. (Read some NWN coverage here)

Somnium Space: VR‑centric metaverse built on Ethereum, accessible via PC, mobile, and major VR headsets. (Read some NWN coverage here)

Upland: Property trading metaverse mapped to real-world cities, built on EOS. (Read some NWN coverage here)

Read the rest of the list is here or after the break:

Dverso: Free, browser-based, blockchain-ready 3D metaverse platform with real-time collaboration, visual scripting, and immersive user-created maps.

Highstreet: Commerce‑focused metaverse blending immersive gameplay, NFT collectibles, and real-world shopping via VR or browser access.

Hyperfy: Enables users to create and trade NFT-based virtual worlds using a no-code React builder and cross-platform avatar support.

Hytopia: High-performance open-world metaverse built in Rust with Minecraft-inspired aesthetics and Web3 integrations powered by $TOPIA.

Monaverse: Mona empowers users to create browser-accessible, NFT-mintable immersive 3D spaces with full Unity and Blender SDK support and DAO tools.

Oncyber: Enables anyone to build blockchain-based immersive 3D/VR galleries and events using multi-chain NFT support and high-performance rendering tools.

Ozone Metaverse: Offers a no-code, browser-first Web3 creation platform with full NFT, AI, and VR/AR integration via its scalable O3 graphics engine and cloud hosting.

Portals: No-code metaverse on Solana allowing users to mint land NFTs and build interactive social spaces accessible via browser.

RFOX: VR-first, AI-enabled Web3 world that provides creator tools, white-label experiences, and immersive digital retail and entertainment.

Substrata: Open‑source, browser‑based 3D metaverse emphasizing vast, persistent worlds with minimal technical limits.

The Nemesis: Multi‑device virtual world blending Web2/3, VR/AR, and play‑to‑earn gaming.

Utherverse: Interconnected network of social 3D worlds powered by photorealistic avatars built in Unity.

VictoriaVR: Blockchain‑driven, AI‑powered VR MMORPG developed in Unreal Engine 5.

Voxels: Browser‑based, Ethereum NFT metaverse where users build, own, and trade voxel art, wearables, land, and experiences.

Wilder World: Photorealistic, blockchain-powered open-world metaverse built on Unreal Engine.

Again, this is just a starting list. If we're missing a crypto world you know about, please post details in Comments or get in touch with us directly. And if you're working on a web3-related virtual world project, you might want to look into our marketing partnerships.
