JuicyBomb EEP SL settings

A week after finally unveiling the long-awaited return of last names for Second Life avatars, Linden Lab finally unveiled its long-promised Environmental Enhancement Project, better known as EEP, giving SL users more granular control over the way their virtual world experience appears. Specifically:

  • Environment objects that you can keep in your inventory and share with others
  • Parcel-level control of environments
  • Up to four different, independently controlled sky layers
  • More options for customization

So for instance, you could use EEP to turn a sim into an entire space flight simulation, with daylight on the ground, and different looking layers of atmosphere (and then finally, deep space) the higher you go up. However, I'm not sure if many developers are still around to take on a project as ambitious as that. (Hope I'm wrong there.)

Most popular application of EEP? My guess: Sharable light settings for Second Life fashion photos. And if that's what you're looking for, Gogo of the Juicy brand has you covered with these starting EEP settings for just 1 Linden Dollar.

Official overview video below:

Anyone have any other ideas about what they'd like to do with EEP?

Ooh Ooh I know:) A sky full of ‘Wanted’ posters asking for info on who decided on that voice morph.
Tried to watch it 4 times and not lasted more than 10 seconds. Anyone remember the little gnome who did those exploring vids a while back? They at least knew how to do it.
    Thankfully there is written documentation…

I guess they figured SL’ers really hate voice, so they tried to give it a super cartoony one to help not break everyone’s immersion?
Either way I lasted 6 seconds before I had to stop the video.
Linden’s really bad at marketing, oof.

I was actually interested in this, but it’s like having your teacher scratch math formulas into the chalk board with her claws.

A lot of people (especially content developers) seem to be under impressed with the implementation of EEP. Me amongst them. The cloud textures I make, which look cool in Windlight, are nowhere near as nice in EEP. It was supposed to improve things, but in a lot of ways it is not as good…
This is the stuff I have for SL at present, for those not familiar. The links in the sales blurbs show a bunch of photos and videos of Windlight in action. I have made a lot of them free now, due to EEP.

Hi James, now that Firestorm has EEP implemented in the public release, there is wider interest in sky files and alternatives to the default skies and legacy Firestorm Windlight settings ported to EEP.
There are not many people creating anything for EEP that I have found on Marketplace. I have created a range of custom clouds textures as well as suns and moons that I have available in packs at what I think are reasonable prices for all the work involved.
You may recall the Windlight cloudy skies I created some years back, well now I have completely revamped them for the new EEP. They are much easier to deliver, install and use than the convoluted method with Windlight, as I am sure you are aware.
I am happy to provide you with all the content from my store if you are interested in reviewing them and using the skies for some of your outdoor photos when you visit Second Life regions for your reviews. I am keen to spread the word as I see so many otherwise very nice Second Life landscape photos that are using the rather bland default skies, when there is so much scope to improve that aspect of their imagery.
I currently have a booth at the Focus Magazine Photography Fair:
