Anya Ohmai SL IRL mesh artist advice

How much should mesh artists really expect to make, in SL and IRL?

I'm very excited to run this Patreon guest article by Anya Ohmai, who's extremely qualified to discuss this topic, both as co-owner of the James&Dew SL brand and a pro-level 3D artist in games and movies — she worked on Marvel's Thunderbolts and cinematics for PUBG, among many other hit titles. (Watch some of her work for Captain America: Brave New World below.)

Anya breaks down the nuances involved, and offers detailed advice for SL artists wondering how much money they should ask for. Spoiler: It's more complicated and variable than what some complaints around "shadow meshing" might suggest.

Extended preview here, Patreon subscribers can read the whole thing (plus get other benefits).

Oh, that movie clip I mentioned:

In Captain America: Brave New World, Anya did the texturing of Joaquin Torres/Falcon's costume and some of the ships in the distance for this entire chase sequence — watch at around 3:16.
