Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting

Nadej Dae’s picture feels like a hallucination. “On ferme les yeux des morts avec douceur c'est aussi avec douceur qu'il faut ouvrir les yeux des vivants,” Google translate tells me this means “We close the eyes of the dead gently; it is also gently that we must open the eyes of the living,” I’ve written about Nadej before, fascinated by her imaginative photography. To me, it feels like she walks between worlds and brings back images to show us. .

“Lost Flowers” is far less hallucinatory. It has an old world feel to it. The sepia color, the degradation of the surface the picture is on. I love how the flowers form a subtle, but present, arc. It is as though the earth is wearing a crown. It’s beautiful. If it were a real life print, I would hang it in my home.

“The distant day exists but the one that will not come does not exist.” This feels a bit like a tautology. I am not sure her intent, but what I see is the border between worlds. Is this the multiverse? Or is this the border between life and death? Will the day that will not come is the day after you no longer exist so will never exist to you in your present form. There is such an ominous feeling on the left engendered from our fear of the dark. Ominous or not, I love it.

Nadej Dae must live in a remarkable mind. I’ve never met her, but I bet she enjoys her own company. Her imagination must engage her mind so that she can be alone and absorbed without a moment of boredom. Does she know what boredom is? Her pictures are relative simple. They mostly have a few elements, trees, clouds, and some animal, avatar, or plant. But her three things say well over a thousand words. They create worlds
