Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Karole Batista imagined what Paul Cezanne might make of Second Life and it is wonderful. Isn’t it a pity Second Life was not around for the Impressionists to explore? I can imagine they would create some wild sims.
Someone should build a sim as though it were made by Cezanne. Karole’s “Cezanne in SL” is, perhaps (above), a bit more realistic than Cezanne’s wild brushstrokes would achieve, but he did change his style from more realism to more impressionism and back again in waves as he was influenced by other artists, family, and critical judgment. No matter, if I were sending Christmas cards, this would be a lovely option.

“Realm of Rosehaven” has such intense colors. One way of getting such intense color is duplicating the picture and layering it over the original. You can do more layers and mess around, experiment, and really produce something wonderful and not even know what you’re doing.
But Karole clearly knows and she kindly provides a link to the original picture which was beautiful as it was. Her editing made it more dramatic with more intensity. You might want to keep an eye out on her stream. She did a tutorial at The Grove Art Center in September and, with luck, might do another.

Oh, wow! Thunder and lightning! Very, very frightening!
That flash from the setting sun and the lightning strike are so dramatic as they come together from their very distinct origins. It’s an amazing picture enhanced by her post-processing when she added the lightning.. I love that she did this in black and white. It enhances the drama.
Karole Batista is a great person to follow. Her pictures are lovely, she usually provides a snap of her original raw screenshot so you can see how much or little she changed the picture. She also provides a teleport link so you can see what photo magic you can find there.
