Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting

“If we don’t stand up for children, then we don’t stand for much” is a stark challenge for all of us in the United States where we ban books and ideas, not guns.

Skippy Beresford is a storyteller. Every picture from the little student avatar tells us a story about him and the real world. In this case, his picture reflects the world as it is, not as it should be. The quote from Marian Wright-Edelman challenges us to do better. So does Skippy.

Books may well be the only true magic.

“Books may be the only true magic” reminds us all that there are untold and unexplored worlds waiting for us inside books. In a way, books are another kind of virtual world, one we create as we read. In these days of book banning and efforts to defund and close public libraries, it is worth remembering, celebrating, and protecting books.

In this world we must help one another.

“In this world we must help one another” is another of his story pictures that advances an agenda – in this case encouraging people to donate to Unicef and Save The Children. This post was made about a month into the Russo-Ukraine War, though what with wars, civil strife, natural disasters, and ill fortunate, this is an evergreen story.

Skippy Beresford tells stories for many more reasons than standing up against school shootings and for books and children around the world. Some of his stories are deeply personal, others celebrate the joy of imagination and creativity. In terms of both those qualities, he has few equals.
