Takeda is the self-named blog of Vitor Takeda. “This Christmas” is a charming blog post featuring Takeda’s signature ability to create a narrative with a picture. He’s relaxing by the tree, playing with his cats, both of whom are dressed for the occasion. As a cat owner myself, I marvel at the cat with antlers. My cat would have that off in 2 seconds. Do you remember “Not Possible In Real Life?” We really did not need elaborate constructions, but just a cat wearing antlers.

Vitor does steampunk next.
Vitor does a lot of scenarios out of roleplay which makes for a lot of variety. I just fell in love with the hat in “New World.” I love steampunk fashions because they combine the detail and complexity of Victorian clothing with the whimsy of a cuckoo clock.

Takeda is a photo-centric blog. There is a bold header with the blog name followed by a gallery with recent blog posts which is then replicated vertically, post after post. At the top of the page, you can link to a list of sponsors and events he covers as well as contact him.
His right sidebar does too much work. I like that the first thing is a picture of him with links to his Facebook, Flickr, and Instagram. It’s followed by a list of his sponsors, a widget to allow you to follow him which he should move up right below his photo so people see it without scrolling. The next widget is a small gallery of his most popular posts. This is followed by an archive, a translation widget (another to move up higher) and a feed of other blog posts. The next widget should just be removed. It shows how many followers he has and since his follow button in the first frame, people just don’t know they can subscribe so there are none. Then he has the events again. I would cut out some of the repetitive widgets (Sponsors and Events) because he lists them on their own page. None of it is distracting, but really, he needs to move his subscribe button up near the top so people see it and subscribe.
The blog is fun, though, with a lot of action photos that suggest stories for you, the reader, to invent.
