"Linda Ronstadt" sure looks a lot younger than when I saw her in concert in college. “I hope you get all that you want cause I didn’t.” is a cleverly titled self-portrait that is arresting. I love how her eyes capture the viewer with a challenge. You can see how depth-of-field is used to make her eyes the center focus, as though anything else could be.

The great majority of her pictures are vendor photos for her shape store. What impresses me is that she creates not just a face but a personality. The styling in each photo is unique and suggests so much more than just a head shot. Don’t you get the sense of who this avatar might be and what she might be like?

Yes, another vendor pic and another strong personality coming through. It’s surprising how well she expresses so much more than the facial features and symmetry. She imbues these simple photos with charm and emotional feeling.
I like Linda Ronstadt’s photostream and find it fascinating to see how effectively simple head shots with some clothing and a pose can be so expressive of personality and lifestyle.
