If you recall the days of Polaroids when you snapped your picture, watching the camera spit it out, and then waited for it to develop. Some people would wave it back and forth in the air, certain their technique would speed the development. Bad Racine’s photostream makes me think of that. “What’s in your mind…Tell me” is such a caught in the moment, slice-of-life picture I can’t resist featuring it. But then, her entire stream is caught in the moment.

Is it life, or is it Second Life? The pose, her hair falling back, the oversized jacket, the slightly blurred signage across the street, the bold colors, it is all so perfect. This is so natural and perfect. And haven’t we all looked up at the sky like this?

“Afraid to lose it all” is another hyper-realistic picture. You can see her adding a nod to Polaroid with the bit of light damage, a common flaw in photos who have been left in sunlight or stacked in a hot attic. The pose is so natural and flawless. I

I just happened across Bad Racine’s photostream tonight, seeing her picture in someone’s favorites. I am just blown away by the skilled posing and execution of photos that look like they are capturing people just living their lives, not posing for pictures at all. Her stream is a stunning example of how real our Second lives have become.
