Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting

Schickzal Destin was one of the several people who shared their grief over the death of Ozzy Osbourne on Second Life Flickr. This was my favorite simply because the Ozzy avatar is in such an Ozzy position with his arms up and outstretched. It’s how I always think of him thanks to his ubiquitous celebrity. Heavy metal has always been popular in Second Life and there were Black Sabbath tribute bands over the years, like this one from 2014.

♫•✿AniKa✿•♫ shared “Lost and Found and Turned Around.” with a link to Ozzy’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home” about becoming sober with his wife’s support. Anika wrote, “Rest Easy Ozzy, Today is a SAD day for The Rock and Roll World 💔”

Zyxiaa Kai posted two pictures. Both are called “Goodnight, Mny prince of darkness.” She added, “Journey Onwards.”

I think Ozzy’s death hit a little harder in Second Life. Second Lifers are a bit more iconoclastic, in my opinion, than most Americans. I confess I was amazed how many pictures were posted until I realized there is a SL store called OZZY. I thought the most moving tribute was from Teagan Slade who wrote, “I have to believe my Dad is out there rocking out with Ozzy today.”
