This is quite possibly a dream job if you have experience in game/Internet product development:
As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll utilize in-depth product knowledge to successfully drive key projects on Second Life. You’ll work alongside a supportive team of people across engineering, design, QA and other cross-functional teams to build products and new experiences and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the original metaverse.
But apparently, if you scroll all the way toward the end of the job description, that future is not mobile-centric:
Experience with mobile development and Jira are a plus.
Which I mean, wow. Yet again I have to mention that IMVU was once considered a low-end competitor to Second Life, but when it shifted to becoming a mobile-centric Metaverse, it gained 7x SL's userbase. Large enough to mint its own blockchain-based currency for use in the virtual and real world. And then there's mobile-facing Avakin Life, which is likely even larger.
I'm hopeful that the upcoming official Second Life iOS app surprises me, but given its delays (it was promised in 2019) and this persistent lack of urgency around mobile, I am not holding my breath.
